Today we watched a video about students conducting a research to find out if they could extinguish fires with sound waves in zero gravity.
The purpose was to use sound waves from speakers to extinguish a fire from a candle. The hypothesis was that the sound waves would drop the pressure and extinguish the fire. The procedure was that they lit a candle with speakers surrounding it to see if when they turned them on the sound waves would stop the fire. The result was that the sound waves did not stop it but the flame was lowered. The conclusion was that the hypothesis was almost correct because the sound waves did affect the fire but did not put it out.
Thanks for reading and have a good day.
